We are passionate about providing children with the skills they need to perform at their best. The founder and owner of the practice has 2 small children of her own as well as a master's degree in occupational therapy. The occupational therapist's working at the practice are supervised and trained by her in order to ensure all children receive the best possible therapy. We pride ourselves on providing holistic therapy to children in order to allow them to grow to their maximum potential.
Our therapy is aimed at paediatric children from as young as 6 weeks up to teenagers. We work with children displaying a variety of conditions from learning difficulties and sensory processing challenges to behavioural difficulties and autism. Physical conditions such as cerebral palsy and amputation or nerve injuries are also addressed. Contact us today to see how we can make a difference in your family's life.
Through holistic therapy where we work closely with the people in your child's life we are able to make the biggest impact on their level of functioning. This may be in the form of communication with the family, teachers, other doctors or therapists, allowing continuity in therapy across the board and maximum functional impact.
We strive to ensure open lines of communication throughout.
We take medical aid and bill medical aid rates.
Our Occupational Therapists are part of a Sensory Integration based practice that uses a wide variety of techniques and therapy methods to ensure that we are able to assist you and your child to function to their optimal standards both in the classroom and at home.
We focus on the functional skills of education, personal management as well as social skills and leisure. These areas of occupation are what makes us people and allows us to function optimally and with satisfaction in our lives. Our aim is to ensure that your child is able to reach their highest potential within these functional skills.
We do this by treating the underlying areas of psychosocial and cognitive skills such as attention and perception, fine and gross motor skills and the functions involved in these, such as postural control, bilateral integration and coordination and sensory processing.
Occupational therapy is beneficial for children who have poor concentration, handwriting skills, fidgeting or have difficulty participating in gross motor or social skills on the playground. Other functional skills such as dressing, getting themselves ready in the morning and organizing their work space at school are also areas we address.
Our philosophy is to ensure that your child is functioning to their optimum potential within all areas of life. We strive to focus on goal related aims. You as the parent contribute to the goal setting process and the teacher will enable us to ensure that, within the educational setting, relevant functional goals are met.

Hi, my name is Tara Thomson, I graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. During my community service year, I completed introductory training in Neuro-developmental Therapy (NDT). Following my community service year in 2012, I began my Sensory Integration Training and completed this in 2014 while working in a private practice specializing in sensory integration. I have worked in paediatrics since 2012, both in the private and the public sector. This involved a variety of paediatric conditions ranging from sensory processing disorder and progressive developmental disorders to mild, moderate and severe learning difficulties, as well as cerebral palsy and other neurodevelopmental conditions. I graduated with a master’s degree in paediatric occupational therapy at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2021. Hands on Therapy was established in 2016 and progressed to become Tiny Hands Therapy Services. I am passionate about working with children of all ages and my goal is to ensure happy families, teachers and children following our interaction with your child

I obtained my Occupational Therapy degree, from the University of Pretoria in 2017. I am currently in the process of completing my sensory integration qualification. I have a total of 8 years experience, 6 in the public sector and 2 in the private sector. I started working at Tiny Hands in 2023 where I worked my way up to senior partner in just 2 short years.
As a peads OT I believe that it is important to engage the child and parent in the treatment in order to see the true therapy magic happen at home. Children learn through play and therefor using playful activities, is the foundation of my therapy. I am young at heart and thrive off of the laughter and smiles from children.
I treat with empathy and sympathy. I am a mother of two premature born boys. Of which one is neurodivergent. I therefor understand the challenges that parents face.
It is not about the quantity but rather...the ability.

Hi my name is Shannon Tromp. I graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2024 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree. I completed my community service year in 2025 where I worked with children with numerous conditions, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, cerebral palsy and many more. I completed a play therapy course in which I learnt about using play as a modality to treat behavioral conditions and trauma in children.
I fell in love with working with children early on in my high school career, and have always loved using play as a means to improve function and independence. I value the relationships made with not only the child, but also the family and teachers involved in the child’s development.

Hi I am Tebogo Mokwena.
I graduated from Wits University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, obtained my Masters in OT in 2024 (also at Wits) and Advanced Diploma in School Leadership and Management in 2025 (also Wits). I have a total of 9 years experience, 8 in the public sector and 1 in the private sector. I own a Nanny n Me franchise (Alberton & Boksburg) which focuses on providing Child Development classes for Nannies and Babies under 3. I am also growing an Educational Toys business named Toddlers to Teens which is aimed at providing purposeful play for children. I started working at Tiny Hands in October 2024 and loving it!!!!
I've always loved being in spaces that promote advocacy, particularly for disadvantaged children. From working in NGOs for children who are hard of hearing to starting up a therapy department in a township special needs school. I believe that children have a right to just be children, and it's our duty to protect their childhood through love, nurturing, presence and most importantly play! There's something beautiful about the sound of children laughing and playing that feels like the world will be o'right!

During my community service year in rural communities in KwaZulu-Natal, I discovered a love for working with children and their parents and caregivers. As a paediatric OT, I aim to truly understand each child and their family so that I can provide individualised and meaningful intervention. I place a strong emphasis on including and educating primary caregivers in the therapy process to ensure carryover into the home environment.
